  • Belva Brown Jordan
    Bethany West coordinator

    Belva Brown Jordan, Associate Dean for Curriculum and Assessment, Associate Professor of the Practice of Ministry at Claremont School of Theology and the Interim Dean of the Disciples Seminary Foundation, Claremont, CA. Dean Jordan is a seasoned higher education administrator with 25 years of experience working with students, faculty and administrators. Ordained by the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in 1986, Reverend. Jordan has been a significant leader within the denomination. The “ministry of presence” and her gift of administration has focused her “call” to be attentive to the needs of students preparing for ministry.

    Before moving to Claremont, Reverend Jordan served as Associate Dean for Admission and Student Services at Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, OK, Assistant Dean for Student Life at Harvard University Divinity School in Cambridge MA, and on the faculty of Lancaster Theological Seminary, Lancaster, PA. Reverend Jordan has also served on the staff of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indianapolis. She is currently a member of the General Commission on Ministry. 

    Dean Jordan, a native of Dallas, Texas, earned her Master of Divinity degree at Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University (TCU) in Fort Worth, TX. Her B.S. degree is also from TCU.  

  • Lori Tapia

    Lori Tapia, Family Resource Center Director for Chandler Christian Community Center is the Co-founding and Senior Pastor of Iglesia Alas de Salvacion, a bilingual congregation in Gilbert, AZ, alongside her husband, Martin Tapia. Lori has served as Associate Faculty in adult education, and has 20+ years administering non-profit programs of prevention, empowerment, social justice, and enriched quality of life for those most vulnerable in society. Lori presently serves as the Vice Moderator for the Obra Hispana, National Hispanic and Bilingual Ministries (Disciples of Christ) and is the Hispanic Representative to the 2014-18 IDWM Executive Committee (Disciple’s Women), where her passion for unity in the church is vital. She is a worshipper at heart and is a song writer.

    Lori is Married and has three children, Joey, Alex and Kassandra, and eight grandchildren.

  • Martin Tapia

    Martin Tapia, is Co-founding and Senior Pastor of Iglesia Alas de Salvacion, a bilingual church of the Disciples of Christ in Gilbert, AZ, alongside his wife, Lori Tapia. Martin is a Chaplain, completing his Clinical Pastoral Education at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, AZ and serves as Moderator of the Arizona Convention, Hispanic ministries, of the Arizona region. Martin’s experience in bridging the gaps in ministry has been instrumental in increased unity within the church among cultures.

    Martin earned his BA in Theological Studies from California Christian University. He is married and has three children and 8 grandchildren.
