Bethany Fellows is offering grants to help congregations served by current Fellows (Ecumenical and Disciple) meet critical technology challenges. Bethany Fellows' goal is to support Fellows & their congregations in taking the next step forward in creating authentic and intentional virtual space for congregational vitality. Current Bethany Fellows may apply for a grant of up to $1,000 toward this goal. Project ideas may include (but are not limited to) working with a consultant of your choice to set up an authentic effective virtual presence, as well as equipment or software purchase or training. Grant money will be awarded directly to the congregation. Bethany Fellows is prepared to offer the names of two "Tech Consultants" who are also ordained pastors with the knowledge and skill to accompany congregations exploring technology options and to help guide discernment and set-up. The congregation will be responsible for the contract/agreement/pay of consultants.
Applications must be completed in partnership by a current Bethany Fellow and a Congregational Representative. Completed applications must be received no later than Friday, October 30th. However, applications will be reviewed as they arrive by representatives of the Bethany Fellows board and grant awards will be communicated promptly.
This grant program is made possible by a donation made to Bethany Fellows in early 2020, given by donors who are inspired by the innovation and pastoral gifts that young pastors bring to the wider church, and a desire to support pastors and congregations through the Bethany Way of connection, renewal, and prayer.
